Clear aligners in Gdynia – transparent aligners that straighten your teeth

This is a modern way of straightening teeth for people who do not want to wear a visible brace. Your teeth are moved by a series of transparent aligners, each replaced after a couple of weeks or so. There are no brackets or wires, and you take the aligners out to eat and to brush your teeth. That is the main difference from traditional fixed braces.

Does this sound like you?

How can you tell whether clear aligners are right for you?

My crowded teeth or the gap between my front teeth bother me in every photo.

I work with people and cannot imagine having brackets and wires for a year or more.

I wore a brace as a teenager, but over time my teeth moved back to where they were.

I am planning veneers or crowns and want to straighten my teeth first to save enamel.

I want straight teeth, but I am not sure whether aligners are as effective as a fixed brace.

If at least one of these sounds like you, clear aligners may be a good option. Whether they will work for your particular bite problem is something we decide at a consultation with a scan, and below we answer the questions that most often hold people back.

The problem and the solution

How can we help?

The five concerns patients most often bring to a consultation, and what we do about each of them.

“I don’t know if aligners will straighten my teeth.”

If you are not sure whether this is the right option for you, we settle it at a consultation with a scan: the choice of method depends on the type of bite problem, not on aesthetic preference. And if a fixed brace would work better, we tell you so plainly before we start anything.

“I don’t want my brace to be visible.”

If discretion matters to you: the aligners are transparent and practically invisible when you talk and smile, and you simply take them out to eat and brush your teeth.

“How long will it take, and will I manage to wear them?”

If time is your concern: treatment usually takes 6 to 18 months, and a weekly change protocol shortens the whole course. There is one condition – wearing the aligners 20 to 22 hours a day. You will know the number of aligners and the schedule before you start.

“I don’t want the cost to go up during treatment.”

If price is holding you back, you receive a cost estimate after diagnostics, before you decide. The consultation (200 PLN) and the treatment plan (500 PLN) are included in the price of the aligners, as are the check-up visits.

“Who really knows aligners, rather than offering them as a sideline?”

If you are looking for experience: your treatment is led by a national consultant for the aligner system, and we discuss unusual movement sequences with Dr Andrea Bazzucchi before the design goes into production. If a tooth falls behind the simulation, we add an attachment or order additional sets.

I had the pleasure of being treated by Dr Kiepuszewski at Flow Dental Studio, and I can honestly say he is an exceptional dentist. Wisdom tooth extraction, which so many patients dread, took place in a comfortable atmosphere. Dr Adrian is not only extremely competent but also has a wonderful approach to patients, full of understanding and care. I also decided on aligner treatment. The doctor's precise work and professionalism mean the visits run smoothly and in a pleasant atmosphere. My smile looks better and better, and I know it was the best decision. I recommend him to anyone who dreams of straight teeth without pain or discomfort! The Flow Dental Studio practice itself also deserves a special mention. Modern equipment, a beautiful interior, a pleasant atmosphere and kind, courteous staff make patients feel looked after, and the visit becomes a much more pleasant experience. It is a place that cares not only about healthy teeth but also about the patient's wellbeing.

It is rare to find places where professionalism goes hand in hand with genuine empathy — but Flow Dental Studio is exactly that kind of place. I had the pleasure (yes, it really can be called that!) of being in Dr Adrian's care for a wisdom tooth extraction I had been dreading for a long time because of severe hypersensitivity. What sets Dr Adrian apart is not only his exceptional skill and precision, but above all his extraordinary respect for the patient's boundaries and feelings. Every gesture and every word – full of calm, understanding and attentiveness – made me feel cared for at every stage of the procedure. A procedure that had filled me with fear turned out to be an almost... soothing experience. No pain, no tension, and great attention to my mental and physical comfort. This is not just dentistry at the highest level — it is the art of creating a safe space in a place usually associated with stress. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to Dr Adrian and the whole Flow Dental Studio team for making it possible to come to you anxious — and leave grateful and smiling.

FAQ

Clear aligners in Gdynia: patient questions

Can’t see your question here? Call us or leave your number and we will call you back. +48 786 420 004 Leave your number
Does aligner treatment hurt?
After you start a new set, your teeth may feel tender for a day or two, which is the expected response of the tissues to pressure. It feels more like pressure than pain, and the smooth edges of the aligners do not rub the inside of your mouth.
Do aligners affect your speech?
At first you may have a slight lisp, which goes once your tongue gets used to the new surface. This usually takes a few days.
What should I do if an aligner cracks or gets lost?
Let us know straight away and go back to your previous set until your appointment. That way your teeth will not move back and there will be no gap in your schedule.
Can I wear aligners if I have crowns or veneers?
Yes, although existing restorations have to be built into the plan, because an attachment holds less well on ceramic than on enamel. We assess what is possible after the scan and a check of your existing restorations.
Do wisdom teeth need to be removed before treatment?
Not always; it depends on the position of the wisdom teeth and how much space there is in the arch. We base our assessment on an X-ray taken before treatment begins.
Can just one arch be treated?
Yes, when the problem is limited to one arch. The scope is decided after a bite analysis, though, because moving teeth in one arch changes how they meet the opposing teeth.
Can I drink coffee with my aligners in?
No – take the aligners out for any drink other than cool water. Colourings stain the material permanently, and hot drinks warp it irreversibly.
The one number that decides the result

Aligners only work while they are in your mouth

Each day means 20 to 22 hours of wear and a 2 to 4 hour break for meals, coffee and brushing your teeth. This is not a “night-time only” brace. Every hour below that threshold extends the current stage, and regularly falling short of it lets your teeth drift back to their previous position.

Who this page is for

This page is for people who want to straighten their teeth but cannot imagine wearing a visible brace for the next year or more. Here you will find an explanation of how clear aligners work and which bite problems they correct. After that come treatment time, a comparison with fixed braces and what the price depends on. This matters, because how well this method works depends largely on the patient, not just on the treatment plan.

We create the plan entirely digitally, on a model from the scan and after a bite analysis. We work on more complex cases together with Dr Andrea Bazzucchi.

In brief

Clear aligners at Flow Dental Studio in Gdynia:

Treatment is based on a series of aligners changed every 1 to 2 weeks, each carrying out part of the planned movement.

You wear the aligners 20 to 22 hours a day and take them out only to eat and for oral hygiene.

Clear aligner treatment usually takes 6 to 18 months.

The aligners are transparent and practically invisible when you talk and smile.

Complete treatment costs from 17 000 PLN to 19 000 PLN under our special offer, and the 700 PLN for the consultation and plan is deducted from that amount.

The retention phase after the aligners come off is essential and lasts longer than the tooth movement itself.

What are clear aligners – Flow Dental Studio Gdynia
Definition

What are clear aligners and who are they for?

They are thin, transparent trays made of a medical-grade thermoplastic material and fitted to your particular teeth. Each one covers the whole arch and sits snugly against the tooth surfaces, so at normal talking distance it stays discreet.

The method is intended for adults and for teenagers whose permanent teeth have fully come through, and the plan is tailored to each patient’s individual needs. Age itself does not matter here – what counts is the condition of the teeth and the periodontium. Younger patients whose teeth are still changing are offered other solutions.

Orthodontic aligners are particularly popular with people for whom a visible metal brace would be a problem at work or socially. That is why invisible orthodontic treatment is becoming increasingly popular among adults. Aligners are also chosen by patients before planned prosthetic work, where aligning the teeth first means less enamel has to be removed later for veneers or crowns.

How it works

How do clear aligners in Gdynia work?

Clear aligners work by applying controlled pressure to the patient’s teeth. Each new aligner differs from the previous one by a fraction of a millimetre and moves selected teeth towards their planned position, rather than the whole arch at once.

Aligners are changed every 1 to 2 weeks, and we use a weekly protocol that shortens the whole course of treatment. Teeth that need to be rotated or have their axis straightened require additional tooth-coloured attachments bonded to the enamel.

The whole process of aligner treatment is planned digitally. The aligners are made from a digital scan of your teeth, and the order of movements is set before treatment begins. The precision of treatment therefore comes from advanced technology and careful planning. One more thing decides the result, though: the number of hours the patient actually wears the aligners. Wearing them consistently plays a key role in every treatment plan.

Indications

Which bite problems can aligner treatment correct?

Orthodontic indications today range from minor cosmetic corrections to a full realignment of both dental arches. Straight teeth are the aim in both cases; what differs is the scale of the task. Every patient is assessed individually, because the scope of treatment depends not on the name of the problem but on what causes it.

  • crowded teeth, where there is not enough space in the arch,
  • diastema and small gaps between teeth,
  • deep bite, crossbite and open bite,
  • underbite and overbite,
  • individual rotated or tilted teeth.

Clear aligners can correct crowding and diastema even when only the front teeth are affected. The limit is set by the underlying cause: a problem with tooth position is handled differently from a problem with the structure of the jawbone.

When is a fixed brace the better choice?

Some bite problems can be treated more effectively with traditional braces, and it is better to say so plainly. A fixed brace is often chosen for more severe bite problems. This applies to large rotations, significant movement of teeth within the bone and problems of skeletal origin.

The choice between clear aligners and a fixed brace depends on the type of bite problem, not on aesthetic preference. If diagnostics show that aligners will not give a predictable result, we tell you so at the consultation. We do not start treatment that is bound to be a compromise from the outset.

Comparison

The advantages of clear aligners over a fixed brace

The goal is the same, but day-to-day life with each type of brace is different. Below are the five differences patients mention most often.

Appearance

Appearance: practically invisible aligners do not catch the eye when you talk and smile. With traditional braces, the brackets and wire draw attention.

Hygiene

Hygiene: you take the aligners out to clean your teeth, so brushing and flossing are the same as before treatment.

Comfort

Comfort: the smooth surface of the aligners minimises the risk of irritating the inside of your cheeks and lips.

Diet

Diet: there are no dietary restrictions while you use aligners, because you take them out to eat. This gives you more freedom than a fixed brace.

Visits

Visits: check-ups are usually less frequent, because there is no wire to adjust.

Aligners are more comfortable than traditional orthodontic braces, but they come with one condition that a fixed brace does not. Clear aligner treatment requires a lot of self-discipline, because the aligners only work while they are in your mouth.

Oral hygiene with clear aligners – Flow Dental Studio Gdynia
Hygiene

Oral hygiene during treatment

Being able to take the aligners out changes the hygiene picture. Clear aligners make it easy to keep your mouth clean, and removing them makes eating and brushing simpler. With aligners it is also easier to maintain oral hygiene between meals.

With a fixed brace, plaque builds up around the brackets, which increases the risk of demineralisation and tooth decay. Keeping your mouth healthy during treatment is therefore simpler, as long as you brush your teeth after every meal.

The aligners themselves need cleaning every day with a soft toothbrush and lukewarm water, without toothpaste, which scratches them. Hot water permanently warps the material, so it should not be used.

Not to be confused

Are clear aligners a removable brace?

They are removable, but they should not be confused with the classic removable brace used in children. That type is based on a plate with a screw and works mainly on the width of the arch. It is usually worn at night and for part of the day.

Aligners grip each tooth individually and move it according to the digital plan. They have to be worn 20 to 22 hours a day. In terms of wearing time, they are therefore closer to a fixed brace than to something worn in the evenings.

This distinction matters in practice. A patient who treats aligners like a removable brace and takes them out for several hours a day will not achieve the planned result.

The process

What does clear aligner treatment in Gdynia involve?

Your visits are planned from the start, so you know how many times you will come in and why.

Consultation and dental scan

The first stage is an orthodontic consultation: a medical history, an assessment of your teeth and gums, a bite analysis and clinical photographs. We take the impression digitally, with a TRIOS 5 intraoral scanner. There is no impression putty, and so no gag reflex.

A three-dimensional model of your teeth is ready straight after the scan and becomes the basis for planning. If needed, it is supplemented with an X-ray or a CBCT scan.

Digital treatment plan and simulation

The scan is used to create a simulation showing every intermediate position of the teeth, right up to the final alignment. If the sequence of movements is unusual, we discuss the design with Dr Andrea Bazzucchi before it goes into production.

You see the final result before you put in your first aligner, and you find out how many sets it will take to get there. This is also when we decide on attachments and on any reshaping of the teeth once the arch is aligned.

Collecting your aligners and instructions

At this visit you collect your first sets and we show you how to use them. This covers putting the aligners in and taking them out without bending them, how to clean them, what you can eat and drink, and keeping up the wearing time.

Coffee, tea and red wine permanently stain the aligner material. Sugary drinks taken with aligners in trap sugar between the aligner and the enamel, which increases the risk of tooth decay.

Check-up visits during treatment

Regular check-ups usually take place every few weeks and are shorter than with a fixed brace. The dentist checks how well the current aligners fit, examines your teeth and gums, and hands over the next sets.

Check-ups are also a chance to correct course. If a tooth falls behind the simulation, we bond an attachment, extend the stage or order additional sets. Fewer check-up visits do not mean less supervision, just a different kind of supervision.

A second opinion on more complex plans

We discuss unusual movement sequences with Dr Andrea Bazzucchi before the design goes into production. That way your plan does not rest on one person’s opinion, and any changes are made on screen, not while you are wearing the aligners.

Clear aligner treatment time – Flow Dental Studio Gdynia
Duration

How long does orthodontic treatment with aligners take?

Clear aligner treatment usually takes 6 to 18 months. Shorter courses involve corrections to the front teeth, longer ones a full correction of both arches. In complex cases treatment extends over a year or more.

Treatment time depends on three factors: how complex the problem is, how many teeth need to move and how disciplined the patient is. The last of these matters most, because any day with less than 20 hours of wear extends every stage.

Changing aligners weekly shortens treatment compared with changing them every two weeks. But it only works if you are consistent, because a tighter schedule leaves no room for breaks.

The first few weeks

What to expect before aligners become a habit

Day 1
Your teeth feel tender and your tongue is finding its place. Pressure after putting in a new set is the expected response of the tissues. A slight lisp lasts a few days, not weeks.
Week 1
Your first change of set. The rhythm is simple: a new aligner, a day or two of pressure, then calm. At every meal the aligners go in their case; after eating, you brush your teeth and put them back in.
Month 1
Your speech is back to normal, and taking the aligners out and putting them in has become automatic. This is when it is easiest to slip into “just one more hour without”. Each stage does not forgive those hours, but your first check-up will show whether everything is going according to the simulation.
After the last aligner comes off

Retention after treatment

Taking out the last aligner does not mean treatment is over. The tissues around the teeth remember their previous position, so once the aligners come off, the retention phase begins.

We use either a thin wire bonded behind the teeth, invisible when you smile, or transparent retainers worn at night. How long you wear a retainer is decided individually and can be measured in years.

Relapse after stopping retention means repeating the whole treatment, so we take this stage as seriously as moving the teeth. For some patients it is completed with cosmetic restoration if the shape of the teeth needs correcting once the arch is aligned.

Contraindications

Contraindications to aligner treatment

Whether the method will work in your case is answered at the consultation, not halfway through treatment. Most obstacles are temporary and disappear once treated.

  • cavities and gum inflammation, which need treating before the first aligner goes in,
  • advanced periodontal disease and bone loss around the roots,
  • temporomandibular joint disorders, which first require a bite assessment,
  • large tooth rotations and an extremely deep bite,
  • being unable to keep up the required daily wearing time.

In some cases, fillings or gum treatment are needed first. Only once that is complete do we return to orthodontics.

What affects the total cost of orthodontic treatment?

Several components affect how much orthodontic treatment costs in a particular case.

  • the number of aligners, which depends on the extent of tooth movement,
  • the scope of treatment: one dental arch or both,
  • the need for additional procedures, such as treating tooth decay or professional teeth cleaning,
  • the need for attachments and any corrections during treatment,
  • the retention set after active treatment ends.

The final cost therefore depends on how complex the bite problem is, not on the name of the method. Clear aligner prices usually include consultations and check-up visits, so when comparing offers it is worth checking what is included, not just the amount.

Six questions to ask about any offer before you compare prices
  • Are the consultation and plan included in the price? With us, yes, if you decide to go ahead with treatment.
  • How many check-up visits does the price cover? All of them, or a set number?
  • What happens if a tooth falls behind the simulation? Are additional sets included or charged separately?
  • Are attachments and bonding them included in the price?
  • Does the price include a retention set after treatment?
  • One arch or both? These are two different things that cannot be compared with a single figure.

Market prices: a rough guide

The amounts below describe the market, not our price list, and are for reference only. In Poland, aligner treatment costs from 5000 PLN to 15000 PLN for a full course. For extensive plans the total cost reaches 25000 PLN.

Invisalign is the registered name of one of the aligner systems on the market, based on the SmartTrack material. Invisalign is therefore one manufacturer’s brand, not the name of the method as a whole. Invisalign prices start at roughly 6609 PLN for one arch. How much full Invisalign treatment costs depends on the number of aligners. Invisalign treatment is priced by practitioners who work with that particular system, which is why prices for Invisalign treatment vary.

At Flow Dental Studio, complete aligner treatment with up to 5 years of care costs from 17 000 PLN to 19 000 PLN under our special offer. This includes check-up visits, scans and additional aligners, so when comparing offers it is worth checking what is included, not just the amount.
